Coral, Flowers and Red Hair, Oh MY!

Coral, Flowers and Red Hair, Oh MY!

Coral Crush
One thing I've learned as a redhead is to NEVER listen to what anyone says I "should" wear. Growing up, it was engrained in my brain that redheads should ALWAYS wear green and purple (something only a redhead can relate to). Sure... purple eye shadow and lavender lipstick are GREAT options, and I reach for them frequently - don't get me wrong, but who wants to wear purple and green every. god. damn. day? Not this girl. So today, I encourage you to try a new color - CORAL! Coral is a great shade for redheads because it looks natural and no matter what your skin tone or eye color is, it adds some life to your look. In my opinion, it is a much fresher and younger alternative to pinks and mauves.

So. Since I have red hair... and you have red hair... that means we can wear the same colors, right? WRONG!

Redheads typically get grouped into one big category and no one has really explained that the color of your hair really has NO impact on what you should or shouldn't be wearing. Just like with blondes and brunettes, there are redheads that have warm and cool tones skin. Most people have no idea if they have blue, green or peach undertones... which is something that any beauty beginner or avid cosmetic junkie experimenting with color should be aware of. Once you hone in on your skin tone, the possibilities are literally endless because, guess what.... every single color of the rainbow can be cool or warm. Quite frankly, I think there is a serious lack of education in this department of the beauty and cosmetic world, not just for redheads but for all ethnicities.

Now, where do we get started? My ultimate goal for this blog is to create a community where redheads can connect and talk about the raw truth of what it is REALLY like to be a redhead and to embrace this beautiful gift we have been given. I encourage each and every one of you to push the limits with your fashion/beauty looks and uncover the true beauty of being a redhead.
